ETSY LOVE: Whimsy & Spice
My friend Beth and I live several hundred miles apart. She lives in Michigan and I am in upstate NY. We are great friends, having met online quite some time ago on a message board for moms. We have so much in common--we both have two kids, run Etsy shops, and love various forms of crafting. Something else we share is a love for all things sweet and decadent.
We like to tease each other by posting links to delicious looking confections. She sent me a link the other day for a tea shop on Etsy and I began browsing other teas...I ordered some tea, thanks to Beth. She emails me links to so many yummy looking things, and I am left drooling, almost tasting the decadence.
Take the other day, for example. Beth sent me a link to some scrumptious looking homemade marshmallows at an Etsy shop called Whimsy & Spice.
I love homemade marshmallows. Last Christmas I made peppermint marshmallows, vanilla bean marshmallows and cocoa marshmallows drizzled with homemade fudge sauce. They were delicious, but a sticky mess to make. I appreciate the work that goes into making such divine looking and tasting confections.
After Beth sent me the link to this Etsy shop, I did some more window shopping. Chocolate Chili Biscotti, anyone? I know that would be heavenly. I have loved this unusual combination ever since I tried "Spicy Mocha" from the Giada De Laurentiis show Everyday Italian on Food Network.
At Whimsy & Spice, you are getting your confections from a licensed bakery based in Brooklyn, which not all sellers of food items on the net are. Jenna's Etsy shop also features cookies and some really fabulous looking espresso brownies which I am pondering ordering at this moment. Everything looks so wonderful that I bet it'd be hard to order just one confection!
